Description

This project practically shows how to configure IP Version 4 (IPv4) static IP unicast routing on the Catalyst 2960-S and 2960 switch. By default, any layer 2 switch does not support routing between different networks. Layer 2 switch only switches the packets between the network devices connected in single LAN. But, here in this project we will use the built-in switch templates to route packets between two or more different networks by altering the configuration of Cisco Catalyst Switches.

Pre-requisites/Implementation Technologies

Pre-requisites
1 . Basic knowledge on LAN and VLAN is preferred
2 . Understanding knowledge on Switching and Routing
3 . Should familiar with basic CISCO routing and switching configuration
Technologies
1 . Switch Database Management
2 . IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack
3 . Switch Virtual Interfaces (SVIs)
Hardware
1 . Cisco Catalyst 2960 switch - 1
2 . Generic or other cisco switches – 2
3 . Desktop/Laptops – 4
4 . LAN cables (5mt) – 6
5 . Serial DB9 switch console cable – 1
6 . Putty or Tera Term (for consoling purpose)
7 . CISCO Packet Tracer 7.1 or higher

Note: One kit will be provided per team for practice.
